What is it and how it works?
Hyaluronic acid injections are commonly known as “gel” injections, which are used as a barrier substance to protect or slow down degenerative changes in joints and increase lubrication around tendons. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the body for lubrication and its production is affected due to degenerative changes, which leads to further destruction of cartilage in joints or wear and tear in tendons.
By injecting hyaluronic acid in the joint space or around the tendon we aim to achieve essential lubrication to protect the area from friction and early degeneration.
